U.S. citizens and parents of U.S. citizen children should enroll in STEP at https://step.state.gov. This will ensure that they receive the most up-to-date information on the gradual resumption of consular services. Individuals should also view the “Alerts and Messages” page on our website for messages on limited resumption of services. For emergency American Citizen Services, please send an email requesting an emergency appointment to AbujaACS@state.gov or LagosACS@state.gov based on your location.
Please note that there are new procedures for applying for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA). First-time CRBA applicants should visit our Child and Family Matters: Birth webpage to thoroughly review the new instructions. We are reviewing pending CRBA cases, and we will contact applicants to provide status updates.
