The U.S. Embassy in Abuja has reduced public operations effective Friday, July 16 through next week as a security precaution.  The U.S. Embassy has strongly encouraged U.S. staff to limit non-essential personal travel in the Federal Capital Territory and private U.S. citizens are advised to do the same.

Actions To Take:

  • Remain vigilant and always maintain awareness of surroundings.
  • Do not leave valuables such as bags or phones unattended or visible in your vehicle.
  • Stay abreast of Alerts sent through our Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).  This communication platform is vital for receiving and sending emergency information.
