Date:  December 4, 2020

Event:  Georgia Senate Runoff Election

U.S. citizens who are registered Georgia voters may submit their sealed, completed ballots for the Senate runoff election at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U.S. Consulate in Lagos.  Georgia voters must submit their completed ballots no later than December 23, 2020.  The Embassy and Consulate cannot guarantee that ballots received after this date will arrive on time.

Please visit www.fvap.gov for information regarding Georgia’s ballot return deadline, as well as state voting guidelines.

Dropping Sealed and Completed Ballots at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate:

If you are mailing your sealed completed ballot through the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or Consulate General in Lagos, ballots can be dropped off at the front security entrance on a walk-in basis Monday – Thursday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  You do not need an appointment or identification to drop off your ballot. Ballots must be addressed to local election offices and placed in postage paid return envelopes or in envelopes bearing sufficient U.S. domestic postage so they may be delivered to the proper local election authorities.

Voters should consider that mail may be delayed due to the holiday season and submit their ballots as soon as possible.

Using international courier services to send in your completed ballot:

Voters who need to submit ballots after December 23 are urged to use international courier services.  The U.S. Mission in Nigeria has coordinated with UPS, FedEx, DHL to accept mail in ballots nationwide.

Please note:  Although FedEx, through their local partners RedStar Express, will accept mail in ballots, they are unable to ship to a P.O. box.  Please review your voting office mailing address to determine the mailing address.
