Location:  Nigeria

Event:  NCDC Update and Reminder on Evacuation Flights

NCDC Update

As of July 18, 2020, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC)  reports 36,107 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.  There have been 14,938 recoveries and 778 deaths.  A total of 212,201 samples have been tested.  Please continue to shelter in place and maintain vigilant hygiene practices and social distancing.  You must comply with local requirements, including wearing a face covering that covers the mouth and nose, curfew (10:00pm to 4:00am), and bans on large gatherings of people.

Evacuation Flights

The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos has a scheduled evacuation flight through Ethiopian Airlines from Lagos to Washington, D.C., via Addis Ababa, on July 23.  THIS FLIGHT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.

The U.S. Mission has no additional flights from either Abuja or Lagos at this time.  If the U.S. Mission schedules additional flights, we will communicate details to the public.

Evacuation flight registration

The U.S. Mission continues to track requests for repatriation to ensure we have the latest information on the needs of U.S. citizens in Nigeria, however, please note the Embassy and Consulate General are unable to guarantee additional evacuation flights.

To better track these requests, we released a new evacuation questionnaire on April 22, 2020. If you have not yet completed the questionnaire, please CAREFULLY and ACCURATELY complete the appropriate questionnaire below. EACH TRAVELER in your party must complete his/her own questionnaire in order to be included in our data.  You should complete the form only for the consular district where you are located.

If you have already completed the questionnaire, please do not submit another form or call to check on the status of a flight; we have received your information. If we have space for you on a future flight, you will be contacted by phone using the number you provided in the evacuation request questionnaire.
