Country Deputy Director

Deborah Conner, CDC Nigeria Country Deputy Director

The Deputy Country Director for the CDC Nigeria office was previously working in the CDC Malawi Program, where she started as Deputy in July 2014.  Before that, she worked as Deputy for the CDC Uganda Program (three years) and before that the Zambia Program (two years).  Before working for CDC, Ms. Conner was the Country Director for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Zambia for over three years.  She has worked with various NGOs including the International Rescue Committee and Mercy Corps, in positions such as Country Director, Field Coordinator and Project Manager.  She has worked and lived in multiple countries including Tanzania, Azerbaijan, Liberia, Kosovo and the Republic of Georgia. Ms. Conner started working overseas as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic in 1992.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Ohio Wesleyan University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cape Town, which focused on Public Policy.  Ms. Conner is married to Stephen Power and has two sons, Samuel and Daniel.  She is from Connecticut.
